Hey guys!
I’m here to tell you all about an exciting email I got a few weeks ago, to let me know about Natural Beauty at Holland & Barrett launching in Ireland! All the products within the range are paraben, SLS and microplastic free to ensure skin is chemical free. I’ve also noticed that most of the products seem to be vegetarian and vegan! (Please check the description of each product if you’re looking for Vegan as a few contain bee’s wax)
I was given the opportunity to try some of the range, and chose the Beautiful Movements Mineral Foundation in shade Naked, the Beautiful Me Mineral Bronzer in shade Summer Warmth, the Beautiful Me Mineral Blush in shade Velvet Dawn, the Beautiful Movements Mineral Eyeshadow in shade Silver Cloud, the Lash Thickening Mascara in Black and the Beautiful Lips Lipgloss in shade Jewel. Also in my package, is a super cool lip balm kit!! Beauty Kitchen create your own lip balms, comes in a cute can with everything you need to make 4 of your own lipbalms!
My Natural Beauty look!
So here is my before snap! In all it’s bare faced glory! As you can see, I am pale, with a tonne of freckles, some acnes scarring on my chin and large pores. I also have a weird line on my lip, no idea where it came from, I’ve just always had it!
So, first up we have the Beautiful Movements Mineral Foundation in shade Naked, this is the lightest shade available, and as you can see it is a bit dark for me, of all the products I tried, this is definitely my least favourite. I found it difficult to get any kind of coverage, and it hugely accentuated my pores on my nose and cheeks (sorry for the extreme close up), it also didn’t want to stick at all around my mouth. After a few hours however, it hadn’t moved at all, and my normally oily nose still looked matte, so this could be a winner for a light coverage foundation for oily skins.
I then popped on some of the Beautiful Me Mineral Bronzer in shade Summer Warmth, this is a weird one for me, I do like it, and it blended really easily, but it has quite a bit of shimmer in it, I prefer a matte bronzer personally, but this would be stunning on a tan or darker skin tone as a glowy bronzer, however, I do still like it and will continue to use it.
Over my cheeks I dusted on the Beautiful Me Mineral Blush in shade Velvet Dawn, I love this blush, it’s a really pretty dusty pink colour, but does contain a lot of shimmer, I don’t mind this at all, because I love looking glowy, but this is something to keep in mind. It blended beautifully and the colour would compliment most skin tones.
I absolutely LOVE the Beautiful Me Mineral Bronzer in shade Summer Warmth as an eyeshadow. Just look at that gorgeous reflect! To compliment the warm bronze colour, I popped on some MAC Teddy Eye Kohl and smudged it in to the upper and lower lashlines.
I then used, what I think I can say, is my new favourite highlighting product, to the inner corner, cheekbones and cupids bow. This is the Beautiful Movements Mineral Eyeshadow in shade Silver Cloud and it is STUNNING. Blended beautifully, super reflective, just a gorgeous silvery white almost iridescent shade. LOOOOVE! I followed that up with a few coats of the Lash Thickening Mascara in Black, this would make a nice natural mascara for day to day wear, it has quite a big brush and is quite a wet formula but dried quickly and didn’t get everywhere!
Finally, I added some brows and the Beautiful Lips Lipgloss in shade Jewel, I really like this gloss as well, it’s not sticky at all, it’s very creamy feeling and has a good amount of pigmentation to it.
All in all, I would definitely recommend checking out most of this range! For me, the foundation is a bit of a miss, as you can see from the above pictures, it just didn’t sit well with my skin, but I LOVE the shadow in silver cloud and the lipgloss, and the bronzer as a shadow, so they will definitely be popped in my make up bag!
